The difference between being a fanboy and lover is that a lover tells the truth.

I will always be grateful for U2. Their music, their lyrics, their testimonies, their examples, their lives.

And, as they’ve inspired me to strive to be a person of integrity, my praises of their best work will mean more if I am honest about those occasions where they let me down.

“The right to be ridiculous is something I hold dear,” Bono sings on the song “King of Comedy.” And maybe my need to rant when I’m disappointed is a demonstration of my own ridiculousness. Whatever. Here goes…
