Favorite Recordings of 2024: Part Six — The Top Ten
I'm grateful for those who support this journal, and I'm grateful for the artists who made these ten records in 2024. Here, I sing the praises of the music that gave me strength and got me through.

Shall we review the reviews?
This is the last post in my series on the music of 2024: the ten albums I played most, the records I found most sonically invigorating and creatively inspiring. They rang true. They sang things I needed to hear, helped me find words for things I didn’t know I needed to say, and then filled me with sounds that could capture what words could not. They renewed my faith. They reminded me of how to be human in an increasingly dehumanizing world.
This series began with Honorable Mentions: Part One and Part Two.

What follows is for those who have contributed to sustaining this site, helping me meet the costs of everything from the music subscriptions that help me find this treasure to the coffee-shop stops that give me opportunities to write when I’m away from the demands of the office and home.

I hope you discover several new favorites here. And thanks for keeping me company here in 2024. I hope we can help each other find even brighter rays of light in 2025.
