Breaking this week’s (apparent) silence...
Technical difficulties interrupted my posting this week.
Over the last week, I spent about five hours writing up a massive, detailed reconsideration of the music and movies of 2002 for you: revisitations of Punch-Drunk Love, Spirited Away, and The Pianist, plus celebrations of the records that still mean a lot to me. Then, I pressed PUBLISH. And — poof! — the whole thing was vaporized. No record of it. No backup versions that the Ghost platform typically archives. It seems that the various internet disruptions you may have read about in the news caused Ghost to think I was logged on from multiple locations, and it would only recognize one of those identities: the one at a coffee shop from earlier in the week, not the one at home pouring hours into new writing.
So, it may look like I have been ignoring this site. Quite the opposite. It’s just that he internet squashed what I was preparing for you. Now I have to decide if I’m going to invest more hours in recreating that post from scratch.
